Wybrane kolekcje specjalne wchodzące w skład księgozbioru Biblioteki Głównej Uniwersytetu Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego

Zbiory Biblioteki Głównej Uniwersytetu Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego w Warszawie liczyły pod koniec 2019 r. ok. 456697 woluminów. Biblioteka w swoich zbiorach posiada głównie publikacje z dziedziny nauk teologicznych, filozoficznych, prawa kanonicznego i historii Kościoła, co wynika z faktu, że od 1954 do 1999 r. na uczelni kształcono studentów na kierunkach z zakresu nauk teologicznych, filozoficznych i historii Kościoła. Od 1999 r., po przekształceniu Akademii w Uniwersytet Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego i powstaniu nowych kierunków, biblioteka rozpoczęła gromadzenie materiałów z innych dziedzin nauki, aby umożliwić kadrze naukowej i studentom dostęp do niezbędnych im pozycji. W zbiorach Biblioteki Głównej Uniwersytetu Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego znajduje się wiele cennych pozycji. Na księgozbiór, mający charakter ogólnouniwersytecki i multidyscyplinarny, składają się także kolekcje o szczególnych cechach. W artykule zostały opisane zbiory, które zdaniem autorów mają dużą wartość zarówno naukową, jak i są cenne z punktu widzenia polskich i zagranicznych dóbr kultury. Artykuł stanowi próbę usystematyzowania wiedzy o przechowywanych i udostępnianych w Uniwersytecie Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego kolekcjach specjalnych, które mogą zostać w przyszłości gruntownie opracowane naukowo.

At the end of 2019, the collections of the Main Library of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw amount to approximately 456,697 volumes. The library’s collections include publications of theology, philosophy, canon law and history of the Church, which is due to the fact that from 1954 to 1999 the Academy of Catholic Theology educated students in the fields of theology, philosophy and history of the Church. However, since 1999, after the Academy was transformed into the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University and new faculties were created, the Library began collecting materials from other fields to enable academic staff and students to access literature from their disciplines. There are many valuable items in the collections of the Main Library. This collection, which is general university and multidisciplinary in nature, contains, however, certain collections that can be easily distinguished due to their special features. The article describes collections which, according to the authors, have high scientific value and are valuable from the point of view of Polish and foreign cultural goods. This article is an attempt to systematize the knowledge about special collections stored and made available at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University, which may be thoroughly researched in the future.
